Junior Torah School (4-5 years old)

Junior Torah School offers a fun-filled introduction to Jewish learning and Temple life through Hebrew language, songs, arts and crafts, and stories.

Torah School Grades 1 – 6

The goal of our Torah School program is to provide students with a deep and enduring understanding of Judaism as well as a sense of joy in our tradition. Our teachers draw on their own strengths and interests as they teach our children about Jewish holidays, Jewish values, basic Bible stories, history, and more. Jewish identity is further reinforced through music and art.

Our Hebrew program begins with an introduction to the Hebrew alphabet in grades 1 and 2. Once in grade 3, students have a 45 minute Hebrew lesson each week, grouped with other students who have the same level of knowledge. We take pride in watching our children progress from being pre-readers to reading Hebrew with ease. They learn blessings, prayers and songs in preparation for the B’nei Mitzvah program in grade 7. Students who enter our program Grade 6 without having had any Hebrew are placed in our special Mechina class, which gives them the chance to learn the alef-bet rapidly so they can begin their B’nei Mitzvah preparation in a timely fashion.
