JDAAIM: Sermon by Steven Atme

February 16 @ 7:45 pm - 10:00 pm

As part of JDAAIM: Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance & Inclusion Month, join us for an extraordinary evening at Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom on February 16, 2024, at 7:45 PM, featuring Steven Atme—an accomplished musician, humanitarian, creative arts teacher, and speaker.

Diagnosed with autism at age four, Steven’s remarkable journey through music and advocacy has garnered him accolades, including the Simon Chang Difference Maker Award (Fall 2021/Winter ’22) and a nomination for the Jim & Ginette Munson Autism Leadership Award (2023).

Steven’s deep connection to music emerged early, leading to self-taught proficiency and, later, a scholarship for piano lessons at McGill University’s Conservatory of Music. His story is one of resilience, creativity, and a commitment to encouraging others, with or without disabilities, to embrace their unique identities and pursue their dreams.

Don’t miss this inspiring evening as Steven Atme shares his compelling story, using music as a universal language to foster inclusivity and celebrate the diversity within us all.

Temple’s building is fully accessible, and our services are also available online to fit your needs. For those joining us in person, a festive oneg will follow our services. If you have any questions about our JDAAIM programming or our accessibility, please contact inclusion@templemontreal.ca.
