Rabbi Lisa Grushcow and Rona Nadler with soprano Ellen Torrie “The Musical Book of Judith” In this special musical edition of Lunch Together, Rabbi Grushcow explores the contemporary meaning of the story of Judith, a character of great strength and courage with a special connection to the holiday of Chanukah. She is joined by harpsichordist Rona Nadler and soprano Ellen Torrie with an exciting musical program including the cantata “Judith” by eighteenth-century composer Elisabeth-Claude Jaquet de la Guerre. Ellen Torrie is an Ontario-born soprano, singer-songwriter, and performance curator living in Montreal. They recently completed a master’s degree in Early Music vocal performance at McGill University under the tutelage of Dominique Labelle.
