Adult Education
Jewish education is a life-long endeavour that is highly encouraged at Temple. Weekly sermons, Torah study classes and discussion groups offer meaningful opportunities for adults to enhance their knowledge of Judaism and Jewish values. Temple also regularly hosts a variety of enlightening guest speakers, lecture series, films and musical productions– now also offered at various West Island locations.
Bar and Bat Mitzvah Classes
Temple offers a bar and bat mitzvah program on the West Island. During the fall and early winter, b’nai mitzvah and their parents are invited to attend several breakfasts where they learn more about their special day, its significance, and how every family can celebrate in uniquely meaningful ways.
West Island Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes meet on Mondays from 4:00-6:00 PM. For more information about our b’nai mitzvah or children’s programs, please contact our Director of Education, Melanie Alter at 514-937-3575, ext. 210 or melanie@templemontreal.ca.
High Holy Day Services
By popular demand, Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom will continue to offer meaningful and inspiring Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services on the West Island. Temple offers family seating and interactive services that are open and understandable to all. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend!
